8 QUICK TIPS FOR BETTER PHONE PHOTOS | PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY
Hi Lovelies, the most beautiful time of the year is here again! Time for family photos and lots of gathering and outings. If you didn’t get a chance to take proper professional personal or family photos this year, I’m here to let you know that your phone is all you need! There’s a saying that the best camera is the one you have in your hand. I couldn’t agree more!
I can bet your cell phone whether iPhone, Samsung or any other android phones is equipped with at least an 8-megapixel camera. That’s really all you need to get the perfect photos this festive season. Most of our recent family photos have been self-shot with my iPhone XS Max and sometimes the iPhone 6 or Samsung s7 edge and 90% of my Instagram photos are shot on my iPhone too.
You don’t need a fancy camera to take decent photos when you go on a date, family outing or to church,
Here are 8 quick tips for better phone photos.
Find Natural Light
The best time to take your photos is when the sun is still up. Even though some phone manufacturers swear that their phones can get good shots in the dark, nothing beats natural light. So whether it’s a date with boo, a family outing photo or just a photo of you in a super cute outfit, ensure you take it in natural light.
Keep your lens clean
Since your cell phone is mostly in your hands, it’s almost certain to find that dirt and fingerprints might be covering the lens of your phone camera. To avoid blurry photos, clean your lens properly before taking photos. Tell whoever is helping you take your photos to ensure they don’t get their hands of the camera lens. Use a clean cloth to gently wipe the lens of both the front and back camera.
Invest in a tripod or selfie stick
This makes it easier to take group photos and capture amazing shots. There are a good number of inexpensive ones you can buy. I have this one so I can recommend it. If you are a blogger or creative, you need a proper ring light and tripod for better indoor photos and videos, I got this one from Ubeesize on Amazon and I recommend it as well. Most of the new tripods, come with a Bluetooth enabled self-timer button, so you can take photos yourself or shoot group photos without anyone having to miss out.
Get a phone camera lens
I got some phone camera lens last year and I use them mostly for indoor photos. They help to give your photos a more professional feel and can help widen the lens of your phone camera for wide-angle group photos. They are mostly inexpensive, so it’s affordable for everyone. I would recommend this one I use, Try it and let me know if you notice the different feel it gives.
Use Grid Lines
The grid line is there to help ensure that your photos are properly centre aligned. Don’t be that person who always has a one-sided photo. Turn on the gridlines in your camera settings to ensure your object or person is in the centre of the frame.
Location
When taking photos, always ensure that the scenery looks right. You don’t want to take a photo of a cute outfit in front of an overflowing gutter. Find a location that is visually appealing and suits your mood or look then have your photos taken there.
Be Natural
Many times photos are ruined because we are overthinking our poses and looks. Great photos are usually those candid ones that happen unexpectedly. So have fun, don’t be a robot in front of your camera.
Edit
There are so many editing apps available to you on your phone these days. Some of my favourites include Snapseed, Airbrush, LightRoom and VSCO. You can use an AI Object Remover to remove object from photo online free. In my next post, I’ll share a more detailed list of some editing apps and offer you some free Lightroom presets I created.
Till then, go on and enjoy taking photos. Kindly share this post with your friends. Feel free to tag my Instagram @Lqueentt in all your cute photos. Love ya!
