TELL ME ABOUT YOUR CHILDHOOD CRUSH

I had a very amazing childhood although it came with the usual challenges but it was fun anyway.

I had to change schools about four times and with each new school I faced the difficulty of blending in. Some of us know the issue of bullying in primary schools and how mean some little kids can be. I ’m sure some of us also had one childhood crush or the other…lol don’t be shy admit it. I remember the experience I had in my third school, somewhere in Satellite Town, Lagos.

Immediately I stepped into the class on the first day, I already knew who the boss was. Her name was Sharon and she was a cute lil girl, she was from a very wealthy family so everyone was literally under her feet.

One day, during P.E classes Sharon’s crush in the other arm of our class came to speak with me. The boy only asked me if I liked the school, I hadn’t even replied when Sharon stormed in and dragged him away. It was later I found out he was her love interest and from what I saw the boy didn’t really like her attitude but he had to put up with it because Sharon brought him Big bite and lots of Choco Milo every day.

When our school was celebrating its 10th anniversary, they needed someone to head the school choir on the day of the grand finale. I remember how Mr. Nosa our music teacher came into our class and chose me to do it because he was also a member of my church and he had seen me singing in our children choir. Sharon was furious already because her love interest Jobi was also in the school choir.

Before long, Jobi and I became very good friends and I had to deal with daily drama from Sharon and the other kids who had sold their souls to her for Choco Milo and Bigbite. She couldn’t stand the fact that Jobi liked me more than he liked her. She picked on me so much. I never went a day without finding my name on the list of noise makers, she was the assistant class captain, so she made sure my name was there whether or not I said a word in class.

When my Dad told me he had been transferred again, I was both happy and sad at the same time. I was happy because I was about to be set free from the constant bullying of Sharon and her group, but I was sad because I was going to miss Jobi and the other nice kids from the school choir.

Jobi happened to be my only primary school crush *covers face* I never met any other person like him in my last primary school. I really wish I could see Sharon now and it would be so nice to see Jobi also.

So please share stories of your childhood experiences and your childhood crush with me, who was your childhood crush?

In Primary school, in Secondary school who was that person that made you blush? That person that made you feel butterflies in your belly?

Have a fabulous week.

Love,
