Dating Apps: The trial and error approach to finding true love

Today we are gonna be discussing dating apps: the trial and error approach to finding true love.

Have you ever been on a dating app?

I have never really been on a dating app to be completely honest…, okay well asides badoo back in the early 2000s but even then I didn’t know it was a dating app. Social media was just unfolding at the time but we had yahoo messenger and hi5. Which I was actively using coz I remember meeting some really great people online then. Not with the intention of dating but just chatting and friendship at the time.

With the advent of social media and modern dating apps like Bumble, Tinder, hinge, BangSexting.com and so on people are constantly signing to new apps with the intention of finding true love. Hookup apps are transforming the landscape of modern relationships.

Let’s not forget also, that some people sign up with the motive of scamming others. I can tell you know a thing it two about yahoo boys and other online fraudsters targeting unsuspecting humans right?

Anyway, after the whole sign up process comes the pressure to present your best self by uploading pictures that portray a drop-dead gorgeous human…lol.

Some people even go as far as taking extraordinary photoshoots for this purpose. Then they go-ahead to throw in Tons of filters and edits to appear skinnier, taller and sexier. To increase their overall chances of being attractive to someone.

I watch the 90-day fiancé a lot on TLC and I see how these women use filters and edits to enhance their aging looks so as to attract younger men….nothing wrong in that but you should see the shock when they eventually meet in person. Hahaha

Once you have gotten the desired outcome for your profile photo, then you begin to wait for matches or responses to roll in. You can make yourself a profile to become one of San Jose milf listings. For the ladies, you can’t deny the gut feeling that makes you question if you are good looking enough to compete with the plenitude of beautiful ladies on the platform. You are constantly checking to ensure someone would find your bio/profile intriguing, that’s if you don’t stand a good chance with your physical appearance.

I don’t mean to be a buzz kill but in my opinion, finding love goes beyond seeing a person’s cute photo and checking how grammatically correct or intellectually sound the sentences in their profile are. It’s way deeper than all that…

Some people are great to stare at, in fact goddesses walking on earth with us mere mortals. However, beyond their looks some of these people lack virtue, integrity and substance.

My Opinion on Dating Apps

I feel like love is on a more profound level and although dating apps give you a good chance to meet probable lovers, you never really know who is behind the mask of that cute photo you keep staring at. Sometimes people go as far as using fake photos…oh my, the pain of falling for a non-existent human via chat. I can’t imagine, this is why it is important to keep an eye on findafuckbuddy!

Aside from the fact that these dating apps can trample on your self-confidence when you are not getting any matches or responses, they could just be hindering your chances of meeting real people the old-fashioned way.

Suggested Alternative to Dating Apps

I think a more plausible approach to finding love would be to:

Go out to places of interest

Initiate Conversation with people

Be Open about your single state. Don’t pretend you have someone just to feel good. Your significant other might just be one friend or colleague away from finding you.

Going out to places of your interest with the hope of finding like-minded real people

Attending anything from shows to concerts. Traveling and exploring the world around you. Putting yourself out there and fanning the possibility of meeting special people you could vibe with and getting to know them one on one.

Also initiating conversations with people you like and not waiting for the whole boy meets girl, boy likes girl narrative to come to play coz honey there’s nothing wrong with shooting your shot!

I’m definitely going to be talking about that in the next episode so subscribe and look out for it

Meeting them one on one makes the process of discerning their character more straightforward. You won’t have to wait till they tell you what they are about. It’s apparent from the way they act, so you could effortlessly get some pointers of a possible connection or the lack thereof.

As humans we crave real connections more than anything else, so meeting physically allows you to find out the depth and connection you share with a person as against just typing text and throwing in a bunch of emojis at each other 🤣😂😍🙄

Going out on your own also gives you a better chance to filter the kind of places you go and the people you meet.

If you happen to meet Boston locals that you can hookup with that’s awesome. If not you’ve lost nothing because you would equally have enjoyed yourself. There’s no love like self-love right?

It would be easier to pick yourself up, get dressed the next weekend, and go out again without feeling humiliated about an online date gone south.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m in no way championing the course that dating apps are a complete disaster. Not at all! I just think it would work for some but for hopeless romantics who desire that deep connection beyond the surface level, you might just wanna stick to the old fashioned way.

Good luck on finding true love.
