JULIEKEN TRUE LOVE STORY: I MET HIM RIGHT IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE!
Hi, Lovelies!!! Happy Valentine’s day!
In the spirit of love, I have a beautiful true love story to share with y’all today. Julie has pretty much followed every love story on this blog and I’m delighted that we would be sharing hers today. These two went from attending the same house fellowship to becoming friends and then lovers and now about to become husband and wife!
Without further ado, let’s hear from this amazing couple, how it all started!
HOW DID YOU MEET AND WHERE?
Julie: We met in the year 2014, October precisely. Since my family joined RCCG, we do host the Sunday house fellowship. This particular day, Ken was invited to the fellowship (Shiloh Palace) in my house by his family friend who’s a member. I think he noticed me cos I was in the choir, I just thought to myself that the fellowship was growing seeing a new member in our midst. We didn’t get to talk until his third visit to the fellowship, I remember him saying I have a good voice but I needed to work on it. In my mind, I was like ‘negodu this Sabinus’ (see this over Sabi o). After a while, we got talking, became friends and he became a dedicated member of the fellowship and helped play the keyboard (lol).
Ken: We met in a house fellowship service where she sang really well but I tried criticizing her performance in order to get her attention and that worked. LOL
HOW LONG DID YOU DATE FOR?
Julie: We dated for a year plus. Way back in 2015, he told me about his intentions to get settled with me, how he was convinced after praying but I declined and never took time to pray about it. We still continued being friends. The year after he still mentioned his convictions to me, then I decided to pray about it. It took some months to give him a reply after getting my own convictions through prayers.
WHAT WAS THE PROPOSAL LIKE?
Julie: For the marriage proposal, I didn’t have the surprise proposal I’d always fantasized about (lol). He came out straight, said it’s time we settled down and he decided to meet my parents. He was very sincere about what he wanted from the onset.
Ken: I didn’t propose the usual way, I told her my intentions although it took over years to get her response. I met her parents the moment I knew I was ready to take the relationship to the next step.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT EACH OTHER?
Julie: I love the fact that he’s like an open book before me (sincerity), his sense of humour and zeal towards the things of God.
Ken: I love her honesty, composure, behaviour, stature, attitude and her love for God.
HOW DO YOU PICTURE THE FUTURE TOGETHER?
Julie: I see our future as a lovely one cos God is very much involved, where friendship and communication is strong, where we’d settle issues amicably and maturely.
Ken: In future, we will be a couple 2 be emulated by all by God’s grace.
A WORD FOR SINGLES WAITING ON GOD FOR THE RIGHT ONE?
Julie: My advice to the singles is that they seek God’s guidance, be prepared cos love can find one anywhere (never imagined I’d meet my husband in my father’s house lol) and when they meet that God’s will, develop a friendship with him or her.
Ken: My advice for singles is to develop themselves while they wait and follow God’s leading.
There you have it guys! Julie and Ken are getting married in Lagos, Nigeria on the 24th of February.
