LOVING LATELY : Finding Joy in Little Things + REVIVE SUPERFOODS DICOUNT CODE
I’ve always been someone who rejoices over very little things. I find that it’s a way to constantly stay happy even if all other aspects of life can be chaotic sometimes. Considering the way COVID-19 just came and took us all by storm, one can only wonder what the rest of 2020 would really look like for the whole world.
Right now, everyone is on the edge, schools are closed and workers have been advised to work from home. In spite of all these, I believe a little cute something can help brighten up your day and make you happy if you let it.
I started sharing Loving lately sometime last year, I wanted to make it a monthly thing but…I promise to do better.
Here’s a rundown of little things that I have been loving lately that have made me happy this past 3 months
Skincare DIY
I spend a lot of money buying skin care products literally every month. That’s not surprising because I have acne-prone skin and I’m always looking for something better to help clear up my skin. I have never really tried DIYs before but during my quest for a new toner, I stumbled on one Pinterest DIY. I made a toner using Bragg Apple Cider vinegar and water. At first, I wasn’t sure if it would work but fam it has worked so well. My dark spots are fading away faster than I imagined. I have used it for 2 months straight now. See before after photos. You can try it if you like ;
Recipe:
Half cup Apple cider vinegar
Half cup of water
Spray bottle or container
That’s it!
Alongside this DIY toner, I use this highly effective Murad skincare rapid age spot & brightening serum, make sure to use a moisturizing serum or hyaluronic acid afterward.
Waist trainer
I started waist training in 2014 when I bought my first Ann cherry waist trainer. It served me for about 4 straight years and then I knew I had to buy another one. I looked online but wasn’t sure the ones I was seeing were the original so I decided to buy another brand based on reviews. After using this one for 2 months, it was honestly so good I decided to start selling it. If you are looking for a waist trainer for exercise and daily wearing that won’t be inconvenient or pinchy, then this is your guy! You can shop yours here
Big Hair Day
I love natural hair so much! My hair is natural and I also have a baby girl with a lot of hair, I’m always supportive of anyone who celebrates our hair texture be it in film or books. My friend wrote this book and I could totally relate to the story and I had to get it for my daughter. The book has an amazing storyline and beautiful graphics to give your little one a good understanding of the story also. You can get it here.
Smoothie
Since the beginning of this year, I resolved to eat healthier and just be more intentional about my self-care. What goes on and into my body. I can’t deny that there have been cheat days but starting my day with a smoothie as against just any garbage that comes my way, helps a lot.
I recently collaborated with @revivesuperfoods and I really love their premium organic ready to blend smoothies. It’s perfect for busy mornings and tastes sooo good. You can get a box here and I have a discount code. Use “QUEENTT60″ for 60% off.
Mug
I love how cute this mug is and the fact that it is designed to me just makes it even better. Asides my breakfast smoothies, I’m also a tea person at night. So ending my day drinking tea with a beautiful mug I made is one of the little things that make me happy lately and of course Black Girl Magic! I also have iPhone cases with this design. The mug is available here
Graphic Tee
If you know me well you’ll know I’m more of a denim and teeshirt kinda girl. I love this Lagos teeshirt so much, the simplicity of the design, a loving reminder of my place of birth and the fact that it comes in black just makes it perfect for me. I designed this on a snowy Wednesday morning and after having them printed I just loved how it turned out. You can grab yours here
Eyeshadow Palette
Although Women’s day is gone, we are celebrating for the entire month. I love this Self-made bae palette I received in a PR package from Catrice cosmetics coz it speaks to me in so many different ways. Each shade has a name that celebrates the boss lady you are. With 12 pigmented matte and metallic shades in it, you have all you need to create a stunning look.
I used the shade #Boss and #rolemodel for my look at church last week. Other palettes in the collection are; Basic Bae and Badass Bae
AMAZON KINDLE
After the kids broke my iPad, they started fighting over my phones. Many times I would need to use my phone but I wouldn’t have access to it because these little humans had taken over.
Last month, hubby decided to get each one of them a kindle. I love the fact that these are inexpensive compared to the iPad that got damaged and now each of them has theirs.
Gosh, I’m so relieved guys. I can’t deny how inconvenient that period was sharing my phones with them.
I also got this protective case to differentiate it and also prevent damage when it falls coz you know kids 😭😭 only God can help us 😭
Thrift finds
I love thrifting so much! The whole idea of finding something valuable for a pinch price just gladdens my heart. I recently did a thrift haul and styled the finds in beautiful ways that made me so proud and happy.
You can click here to watch my thrift haul, follow me on Instagram to see more style updates.
At the moment, these are the little purchases that make me so happy.
What changes have you made to your self-care? What new things did you buy that make you happy?
